Swim Meet 101
- Most of the swim meets are either at TCA or pools in the greater ABQ area - to include Los Lunas and Belen.
- The District meet might be farther away depending on the district that TCA lands in. Belen or Rio Rancho are typically the farthest the team will travel.
- Swimmer and volunteer check in procedures:
- Be at the pool @ 7:15am
- Warmups begin on the day of meets at 7:30am sharp! Please be on time so that your swimmer gets time to warmup before the meet begins. Warmups for the opposing team run from 7:50am-8:10am.
- If you are volunteering as a timer or at the ribbon table, please meet by the starting machine at 8:00am for a short meeting.
- Please make sure your swimmer brings their swimsuit, goggles, TCA's swim cap (TCA will provide the caps for swimmers), towel and sunscreen.
- Please make sure your swimmer has snacks and water during the meet. Hydration is the key to success!
- Meets usually start around 8:15am and run 3-3.5 hours.
